How to Clean Clay Pots

Like most homeowners, you probably have a collection of clay flower pots.

Did you know they should be thoroughly cleaned each year before replanting? Deposits on the clay can leach harmful chemicals into young plants and retard their growth. Used pots can also harbor fungi and pathogens barmful to plant life.

So take some time this spring to properly clean your clay pots. A simple mixture of baking soda and water and a scrub brush will do the trick. Or you can soak pots in a weak solution of bleach and water for 30 minutes.

Creating Outdoor Rooms in Your Landscape

Outdoor space becomes livable when you divide your property into 'garden rooms.' Yardmasters Designers believe in this principle and can help you transform your yard into a functionally beautiful environment following a few basic steps.

First, expand your dreams by looking at landscaping pictures from magazines, or the internet, and by driving around looking at the world. Think about what you would really like to see in your landscape.
