IT'S SPRING: Spring Blooms in All Its Glory (Step 4)

27 Mar. 2011

STEP FOUR: Enjoy the Spring Bulb Show Tulips emerge and their colorful display pays you back twice over for planting them last Fall. While you enjoy this year's display, now is a good time to pick out the companion plants that can be planted as soon as weather permits. These include pansies, phlox and primrose. This Fall you can also add other Spring blooming bulbs like daffodils and alliums to spice up your display for next Spring.

Another good springtime effort is to visit your favorite nursery to look for new varieties of warm season plants you can install when frost danger is past. Here are some of the hottest new plants to look for.
Pow Wow Wild Berry Coneflower
Grypon Begonia
Phantom Petunia
Fireworks Fountaingrass
Superbells Blackberry Punch Calibrachoa
